Sharing Diverse Practices on Common Ground

10 June 2017

Venue: Education Space, Thames-Side Studios, Harrington Way, Woolwich, London SE18 5NR

Organiser: [ART&CRITIQUE]

[ART&CRITIQUE] is a network dedicated to practice, research and critical engagement with contemporary art. It fosters alternative models of art education by bringing together artists, curators, students, tutors, researchers and organisations in a series of events, including courses, seminars, workshops, reading groups, studio crits and gallery visits.

Join us for an all day event at Thames-Side Studios in Woolwich to discuss the work of Laura Hudson and Rachel Ara. These two artists live together and share sociopolitical and artistic concerns. Their daily conversations influence and shape each other’s ideas yet their individual work and working processes are completely different. Working in separate studios in the same studio complex provides a great opportunity to discuss the working practices of two artists returning to their practices after previous experience in other fields and at opposite ends of the spectrum.
