Another city is possible: Networked urbanism from above and below

10 June 2016

Venue: OSE

Organiser: Adam Greenfield

Communalist, feminist, urbanist, writer.

After dispensing with the sham that is the so-called “smart city,” we’ll be discussing commons-based ways that ordinary people can use networked technology to make urban form(s) and experience(s) that respond to their own needs and desires, and not those of the multinational technology vendors or the financial and political elites they’re enmeshed with. We’ll specifically consider four aspects of this work: people making data, people making things, people making places and people making networks.
